Details of this wedding from Mersea Museum records - used in 2009 Wedding display but attributed to the wrong photograph:
The marriage of Ivan Victor Mole and Eva Ellen Parkin which took place on 21 July 1923 at the parish church. Eva was a widow. Her first husband, Edward Parkin was killed in action on 5 October 1918 aged 21, leaving her with a two year old child, Edward Arthur, to bring up. Edward is commemorated on the West Mersea War Memorial and details of his service are in Roger Bullen's book, Not Just A Name. Eva's maiden name was Russell and one of the witness at her marriage to Ivan was William James Russell to whose signature has been added, maybe by the Rev. Pierrepont Edwards, the initials M.M.
