Joe Jeckells was working in the family business in Lowestoft until 1913, but by all accounts the fishing industry was going through a tough time and at this point he came down to Tollesbury in the hope work would prove more plentiful. His daughter Florence (1894-1972) married Lawshall Upson (1897-1971) at Tollesbury in 1918. Thereafter they lived in Witham, and had 11 children. [ from Martin Rogers ].
