 The death of a shipyard.

A tiny craft left the slipway at Wivenhoe on Tuesday. It marked the death of a shipyard.

It was a small Admiralty suppy tender and the last to be completed at the Wivenhoe Shipyard Ltd. before the firm closes.

During the war, this shipyard, the oldest on the Colne, employed some 300 men. Now it employs only about a dozen.
