The vessel on the left is HIGHLAND ROVER - one of a class of 10 built for Nelson Line 1910-11. The vessel on the left is HIGHLAND ROVER - one of a class of 10 built for Nelson Line 1910-11. They were HIGHLAND BRAE (scuttled 1915), HIGHLAND CORRIE (sunk 1910), HIGHLAND GLEN (sold 1929), HIGHLAND LADDIE (sold 1929), HIGHLAND PRIDE (wrecked 1929), HIGHLAND ROVER (broken up 1932), HIGHLAND SCOT (wrecked 1918), HIGHLAND LOCH (sold 1929), HIGHLAND PIPER (sold 1929) and HIGHLAND WARRIOR (wrecked 1915). Only the HIGHLAND ROVER survived beyond 1929 and Waterside Memories by Frank Drake talks about the HIGHLAND ROVER laid up in the Blackwater. HIGHLAND ROVER left the river 20 October 1932 to be broken up at Grays. The vessel on the right is believed to be CITY OF GUILDFORD.
