QUEEN OF SCOTS was Official No. 119131, twin screw steam yacht, built 1904 by Fairfield, Glasgow. She was built for W.A. Coats and was still owned by him in 1926 LRY. In 1930, 1932 and 1935 LRY list her as owned by Anthony J. Drexel and registered in Philadelphia. She was scrapped Savona in 1952. The QUEEN OF SCOTS was built for W.A. Coats, a director of the large cotton-thread manufacturers, with an interior designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens - see www.lutyenstrust.org.uk/portfolio-item/lutyens-afloat/ for the full story.
