Milk bottle from Brierley Hall Dairy, West Mersea, found on the mud at Mersea Hard by David Conway July 2018. The bottle has barnacles on its bottom and was probably dredged up in the River.

We do not yet know when Brierley Hall had its own dairy selling milk in bottles. It is an old-style bottle and would have had a cardboard cap inserted in the top.
