Angela's Empire medal

A Grandmother's tireless services to Scouting and her community have earned her a British Empire Medal.
Angela Gamble, 74, of East Road, West Mersea, will receive the honour for her work with the West Mersea Scout and Cub group for 40 years. Over the years, she has repaired the old fire station on the island, where the youngsters meet, and organised the annual camp.
She continues to raise money for the group through regular coffee mornings and furniture sales.
Mrs Gamble also organises the twice-yearly open garden scheme to help raise funds for charity....
