 Found underneath the wallpaper in an upstairs room at 120 Coast Road West Mersea. Blackboard for a list of Billets, and on another wall, a board for a list of Boat Crews. They were discovered during redecoration in 1996, but are thought to date from WW2. Many houses were taken over in the area during the war. Found underneath the wallpaper in an upstairs room at 120 Coast Road West Mersea. Blackboard for a list of Billets, and on another wall, a board for a list of Boat Crews. They were discovered during redecoration in 1996, but are thought to date from WW2. Many houses were taken over in the area during the war. The Royal Army Service Corp were based at the Hard with a variety of motor cruisers and also Alligators - small amphibious landing craft.

120 Coast Road was named "Beach House". The house had been empty for some time before the Panton family bought it - Annie and 'Joe' Dawson had previously lived there.
