 Jack Botham aerial photograph 2618. Coopers Beach, East Mersea. Started as beach venue for wives and families for East Mersea golfers. Chalets built mainly mid to late 1930s but now all demolished and replaced by mobile homes. Mainly built by Gilbert Lee (Gilbert's uncle) & Cyril Lilley at approx £75. Most from East End & handed down to different generations.

Coopers Beach was closed to visitors during WW2 and used by the Army some of the time.
