Constance Rose Smith, daughter of George and Edith Smith.
Connie worked in London for many years in shops, Sainsburys etc. She came back to Mersea and shared a house in High Street North with Sheila Taylor. They took over and developed the family shop in Mersea Avenue as Cresta Stores, eventually selling out to the Hoole family.
