Gladys Peacefull was daughter of Ernest and Martha Peaceful, and was born in Kentish Town, London in 1902. Her father died 1910 and her mother 1936. By 1911 Gladys was living in Woodside Cottage, Fingringhoe, with her great aunt Hannah Sargeant née Clark-Peaceful.

Gladys Peacefull was daughter of Ernest and Martha Peaceful, and was born in Kentish Town, London in 1902. Her father died 1910 and her mother 1936. By 1911 Gladys was living in Woodside Cottage, Fingringhoe, with her great aunt Hannah Sargeant née Clark-Peaceful.
1936 Nan Peaceful was living with the Catchpole family at Mondamin, West Mersea, and she stayed there for the rest of her life.

Nan Peaceful was employed to look after us when we were little. She used to take us out for regular afternoon walks [Pauline Winch, who was brought up in Empress Avenue]
