At the Congregational Chapel, Ref. W. Juniper officiating. The bridegroom was Mr George Windham Rudlin, son of Mr & Mrs George Rudlin of Fern Villa, West Mersea, and the bride, Miss Mildred Emma French, daughter of Mr & Mrs George French of Fir Cottage, West Mersea. Miss Cecily Rudlin, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmade, while Mr Sidney French of the firm of Laurence & French, motor engineers, of Colchester, was Best Man.

The bridegroom joined the Marine Artillery during the war and no sooner was he back than with true grit he took up motor driving and invested in a Ford carrier's van to assist his father in this useful business to and from Colchester.
