27 September 1939 Mr Bungay Assistant to the C.E.O., with Mr Barber (West Ham) visited the school to discuss accommodation problems.
2 October 1939 Miss K.I. Thompson and Miss D.M. Ball, two T.C. assistant mistresses serving with the West Ham schools were attached to this school owing to staffing deficiency and commenced duty today.
4 October 1939 Information was received authorising the use of the Union Church Schoolroom. Arrangements have been made for tenancy to begin on Oct 9th and the caretaker Mr A. Brown has been engaged at the rate of 1/- a day.
5 October 1939 The use of fires in the Legion Hall commenced.
9 October 1939 A permanent emergency system of education was put into operation. The times of session vary in alternate weeks as follows
1st week School 9-12 Out of school 1.30-3.30pm.
2nd week Out of school 9.30-11.30 am. School 1-4pm.
Such subjects as Gardening, P.T., Music, Nature Studies, Woodwork, Cookery, Needlework, Craftwork are taught in the 'Out of School' sessions when the Garden, Playing Field, Practical Subjects Room and Legion Hall are available.
Seniors attend all sessions.
Juniors attend all school sessions and alternate 'out of school' sessions.
Infants attend school sessions only.
