Death of Miss Stella Francis, daughter of the late Mr Claude Francis and Mrs Francis of St Michael's, Berechurch, on Monday August 14 at Essex County Hospital.

Miss Francis was born in New Zealand in 1888.
She followed the vocation of teaching, first in Colchester, and then later since 1921 at her own private school, St Michaels, West Mersea. During the last war Miss Francis worked for the Government in the Recruiting Office and Land Valuation Office.

The funeral was at St Michael's Berechurch, conducted by the Vicar Rev. W. Wiggins who was assisted by Rev. C. Pierrepont Edwards and others.
