Appointment of Beach Caretaker.
The Clerk reported that he had published Notices asking for tender for appointment as Beach Caretaker, on the Co-operative Association Board at The Square, on a hoarding by the pathway from Captain's Road to St Peter's Rd., at Mr T.D'Wit's shop and at the Primrose bus Cos' notice board. Mr Albert Hurd had supplied copies of schedule of duties as follows -

"The Attendant appointed will be required to to undertake the work of scavenging the greensward and foreshore. He shall collect all refuse, waste paper etc. deposited on the greensward and empty the sanitary bins provided as often as may be necessary and not less than once daily - including Sundays. The greensward is to be kept at all times in a clean and sanitary condition. The refuse collected is to be burnt by the Attendant or removed by the Council's Scavenging Contractors, as the Council may direct. The Attendant will be required to empty the contents of all Pails to Public Conveniences and keep the Conveniences in a clean and sanitary condition. All excreta to be buried and properly covered on Sites to be approved by the Council's Sanitary Inspector. The Pails are to be emptied as often as may be required and at least every day and kept clean. On Bank Holidays and other public holidays it will be necessary to empty the pails at least twice daily. The approaches to conveniences to be scrubbed down with soap and water as often as may be required and not less than tree times per week. The Attendant will be required to empty the Urine Pails, to be provided by the Council, as often as may be required. the Attendant shall report all cases of people sleeping in the Bathing Huts to the Council or their Sanitary Inspector.
