Sewing machine that was left inside the Museum grounds September 2019 - donor unknown.
The machine is an Essex Miniature Sewing Machine manufactured by The Essex Engineering Works, Wanstead, London E11. It was first produced in 1946 and by 1956 over 150,000 had been made.
Essex Engineering Works went back to their core business of manufacturing coin mechanisms for machines of all sorts, and they are still going strong.
