A visit to West Mersea Lifeboat Station.

Tony Purnell talking to a group outside the shed

For the first two years of its life, the Lifeboat was kept in the open in Clarke & Carter's yard. Then (about 1965) Paddy Hare offered the RNLI the use of a shed (formerly used as a store by the Army Sailing Association) as a boathouse, and this was the Lifeboat Station until 1992.
