Barge MERMAID caught on the wharf at Maldon on a big tide.
There is an entry in Cook's Invoice ledger 'Launch MERMAID off Hythe Quay after big tide £13 9s 6d'. The date looked like 14/1/1928. There is also an entry 'Damage to Port bow and apron £4 1s 8d dated 7/1/1928.

He writes 'I am sending this photo on that is what the big tide done at Maldon quay on friday night so I had a hard day work on Saturday to get her off it is the barge MERMAID'. [Ron Green]
