Kiddiesland was developed during the 1930s to provide a permanent site for children from London to spend their holidays. In addition to the large selection of amusements, there was also a salt water swimming pool near the beach. After WW2, it was owned by Essex County Council and for many years was known as the Youth Camp. It is now Essex Outdoors.
