Part of a painting of Auxillary Ketch LARANA at Birdham pool nr Chichester. The person in the picture is Mersea lad, Tom Pullen. The painting was painted by William Cartledge (local to Chichester) and was going to be on the front of the Illustrated London News. It wasn't though - they used a photo of an area of the pool nearby. In the end the picture was bought by Mr R.J. Freeman, Tom's boss and eventually Mr Freeman gave it to Tom. It now hangs with pride in our sitting room. [Trevor Hayes]
