Checking the Oil? The garage still had its original frontage. John Palmer serves a customer who is dressed in the popular plus-fours. Antique-looking hand operated petrol pumps supplied a half-gallon of "Shell" with each draw. The shed in the background is the rear of S.W. Parker's general store, now 24 West Street.
