Used in Tollesbury Past, photo 34, which says:

According to the tide,depth at the end of the 590 yards long pier was between 10 and 25 feet. Opened 15 May 1907; first steamer sailing to Clacton 25 Septemberr 1907. Eventually fell into disrepair and was partly blown up by the army in WW2. The remainder was removed in 1951.
