 11. Smugglers - a few decades gone by, two freetraders, one on either side of the wall, blazed away at one another, each mistaking the other to be an excise officer. One died.
 12. Haggy Daggy - a mist that drives from seaward.

 14. Bowling Green. In the good old days of farming, a natural lawn of considerable extent lay along the shore of the Blackwater, parallel to the 14th hole - where the local gentry were wont to hold their galas.

 18. Levener - intermediate refreshment taken by men in the fields.
