Nuncupative will (ie declared orally on sickbed)
Anne Cooke, singlewoman, of perfect mind and memory declared her last will (nuncupative) in these or similar words. She left 12 pence to John Cooke her eldest brother, and to her sister Elizabeth Cooke, a waistcoat and petticoat. Everything remaining was left to her brother Richard Cooke. Will witnessed by Richard Foakes and Robert Field.
Probate 20 April 1623 on the oath of Richard Cooke, legatee.

West mersea in the Countie of Essex / singlewoman did while she was of
p[er]fect mind and memorie make and / declare her last will or dispos?
of her good[es] in these word[es]followinge or / the like in effect viz She gave &
bequeathed to John Cooke her eldest / brother twelve pence and to Elizabeth
Cooke her sister a wastcoat and a /petticoat All the rest of her good[es]
and Chattles whatsoever she had / she willed and bequeathed to Richard
