TitleWalter Mussett - Winifred Hone memoirs
AbstractWalter Mussett, known as Navvy, another well known Islander who volunteered for the River Fire Service during the Second World War. His hair always seemed to stand up on end, which he said was caused by the experiences he'd had doing his duty. This reiteration certainly made his listeners stand on end also. In peace time he had been skipper of many well known yachts, one of which, the DUET, was owned by the generous Mr Courtauld.
