TitleThe late Mr Kenneth Osborne
AbstractHis many friends including former passengers were stunned to learn on Friday the 17th September that Mr. Kenneth Osborne had suddenly passed away at Westminster Hospital where he had undergone an operation. "Ken" as he was affectionately known had for many years taken an active part in the day to day running of the 'Bus Company founded by his late father Mr Geo. W. Osborne in 1919. Unlike his brothers, Ken did not enter the family business immediately on leaving, school, but was for some years employed in the catering-trade in London and later on his own account as a market gardener. On his return to the village he entered wholeheartedly into village and church affairs. He became a sidesman, was elected to the Parochial Church Council and was for some years churchwarden. Only the demands of public service compelled him in recent years to relinquish church duties, but his keen interest and help was sustained. His cheerfulness, charm and unfailing kindness and courtesy at all times will be much missed by his friends and the traveling public. After a life time of service to the public, "Ken" suffered bouts of illness in the past two years, but such was his courage and determination that he made a recovery and was only too eager to get back to work, and it was hoped by all his friends that he would have recovered from his more recent illness.

"Ken" was 66 years of age, and the heartfelt sympathy of us all is extended to his sisters and brothers in their and our sad loss.
