Career:Described in Essex Chronicle 8 May 1931 as the ship on which the first Canadian troops came over in the War, and on which the murderer Crippen was arrested. [ Most sources say Crippen was arrested on the MONTCALM and returned to England on the MEGANTIC. ]
MEGANTIC was leaving soon to prepare for a trip round the world.
