1925 replaced by the LLANDOVERY CASTLE on the Round Africa service, laid up in the River Blackwater off Tollesbury and broken up in 1926. [ from www.red-duster.co.uk/UNION8.htm ]

An item on http://union-castle.net/shipmates_Jamieson_Magnus_01.html describes Magnus Jamieson, a watchman from the NORMAN, being drowned. His body was found 9 April 1926 at Bradwell.
Essex Newsman 27 Feb 1926 reports three watchmen are missing from the Union Castle liners NORMAN CASTLE and GOORKHA which are laid up in the River Blackwater. Their names are Spence, Slesser and Jamiesen.
Western Daily Press of 28 Apr 1926 reported NORMAN passed The Lizard westbound 27-04-26 in tow of tugs HULLMAN and SEAMAN
Lancashire Evening Post of 30 Apr 1926 reported NORMAN arrived off Fleetwood 29-04-26 to be scrapped at Morcambe
