Cedric Gurton, a Tollesbury resident, as a young boy before the War, used to do deliveries to the ships with the local butcher. He can remember the SILVERPINE as being the second boat in from the outer end of the anchorage.

Sunderland Daily Echo & Shipping Gazette of 6 Aug 1932 reported SILVERPINE arrived River Blackwater 07-07-32
Sunderland Daily Echo & Shipping Gazette 22 Aug 1934 reported arrival of SILVERPINE from River Blackwater off River Wear and subsequent incident of ship blown 8 miles out to sea because of bad weather and engine trouble.
