| Career: | The oil/gas rig GALVESTON KEY was laid up in the Blackwater when she had completed exploratory work for Mobil off Great Yarmouth. He presence in the river was not welcomed by all - Tollesbury village was upset by its loud hooter which repeatadly blew when foggy.
GSF GALVESTON KEY Rig owned by GlobalSantaFe is a Jackup type of drilling rig. It was design by LeTourneau Class 116-S and delivered in 1978 built by Marathon LeTourneau at the Brownsville, TX shipyard . It is currently (2008) holding a US flag. The GSF Galveston Key Jackup can operate at water depths up to 300 ft and drill down to approximately 30,000 ft .
