Chelmsford Chronicle 11 Jan 1924 Body of James Wilson, 57, watchman on GORDON CASTLE was washed up on beach at West Mersea. With Ernest Rogers, also watchman on GORDON CASTLE, he had purchased a bottle of whiskey and gone down the railway line to Tollesbury Pier Station.
