Castle Liner on Fire
The DUNVEGAN CASTLE, a 6,000 ton steamer belonging to the Union Castle Line, was on fire for an hour and a half early yesterday afternoon at the South-EAst India Dock, Poplar, and as a result her tunnel shaft was seriously damaged. A large force of firemen was engaged, and several were overcome by the smoke, two having to be removed to hospital. |
