1. Native Spat (on oyster shell), 2. Native Brood
3. about 1 year old Native, 4. about 2 year old Native
5. about 3 year old Native, 6. about 4 year old Native
7. A 'Royal' Native, much sought after by oyster connoissseurs. This shell has been varnished and was once mounted on the mast of the smack BOADICEA. Shell on loan from Martha French.
8. A marketable Pacific or Gigas oyster. Not considered so highly as 'Colchester' Natives, but very popular in recent years.
