She was Kathleen Young [daughter of Alberta Kate Hewes and Richard Young of West Mersea], became a singer and later an actress. In 1939 she married Michael Wilding, a rising star of the time. During the War, she went to Africa with a theatrical company. Divorced after the War, she met Douglas Montgomery, the actor, and they married, going to live in Connecticut. Douglas Montgomery died in 1966. Two years later she met Australian actor Myles Eason, and went on to marry him.
