Jean Ponder on the gate of the Shell Works (now Shell Bungalow), Peldon. Jean was born and brought up in the end cottage of four called Rose Cottages (now known as The Old House) near the Peldon Rose on Mersea Road, Peldon situated opposite this gate and driveway.
