Nos 1 and 2 Barnard's Cottages on the corner of Mersea Road, Peldon with St Ives Hill were one dwelling at this time occupied by Mrs Tuppenney and Jean Smythe. The house later became derelict and was demolished, making way for an executive house named Bluebell Cottage.
