Left Grammar School July 1939 and started to work for Colchester Corporation 4 December 1939 in electricity department. Sent to Electricity Department, High Street, West Mersea.

Harold Rudlin.

Left Grammar School July 1939 and started to work for Colchester Corporation 4 December 1939 in electricity department. Sent to Electricity Department, High Street, West Mersea.
August 1942 called up - RAF, and eventually Electrician with Mobile Field Hospital. Out to Bombay and in Digri, India for some time. When the War ended, he was sent on to Japan and was not demobilised until 1947. Harold returned to work for Colchester Corporation in West Mersea, but the electricity was soon nationalised and he was then working for Eastern Electricity. He continued in the shop in West Mersea until the shop was closed in 1971. Harold transferred to the shop in Colchester until he retired in 1987.
