The Fountain. Email to Ron from David Walker: I can't remember when it was obtained but as I've not been on the Island since about 1952 it should be prior to that. My Aunt Dorry Aldous and Uncle Pon Aldous where running The Fountain back then. I arrived from Canada to Mersea in 1937 and lived with my Aunt Dorry at Daisy Bank, Firs Chase. My sister and I went to school in Mersea and I'm certain our Canadian accents stood out from the Mersea accents. I have returned to Canada but Pat stayed in England and married Raymond D'Wit. She had 3 children David, Timmy and Amanda and she died on the Island.
