Clive White says:
I remember as a young 5 year old lad my father taking me to meet his Uncle Clifford in his house, also seeing the signs placed around Mersea saying this land is belongs to C. White (or words to that effect), which amused me as my initials are the same.

I also remember Kate White and visited her in her very small bungalow a few times in West Mersea, her front room was covered in old photos of the White family, also went to see her in a (care) home near to the Clifford Whites builders / sawmill yard not long before she passed away.

My grandfather also lived in Bank House Tollesbury before moving to Bristol as an accountant in the city. He met Bessie Annie Louise Blake, born Sept 1896 in West Ham. Lived in Clifton area for at least 2years. They were married Apr 1919 at Clifton, St Paul, Bristol.
Paul Frederick White was born in Bristol Apr 1920, other siblings were born at The Firs, Station Road, Tiptree which is where Claude died. They had the shop on the corner of Church Road, he was also the church organist at St Lukes.

Paul went to work in Ipswich until WW2, and was called up at the beginning of the war being in the Territorial Army. The other siblings and their mother Bessie Annie Louise (known as Lou) moved to Oakdale Poole in 1940.
