15 Mar 1909Hollington's Factory of Work began in Old Cottage near Fox Inn on Monday March 15th 1909. Forewoman Maria Chapman, Work Hands Emily Burgess, Gertrude Mole, Grace Cudmore, Beatrice GreenHollingtons had a clothing factory in Colchester. Finishing work was often done in the surrounding villages. In the 1950s, finishing was still being done in Birch.
10 Apr 1909George Pullen 'The Rose Inn' Peldon died Apr 10th 1909 buried at West Mersea burial ground Apr 16th 1909 (aged 64 years)
