Death of a Nonagenarian.
Peldon has lost yet another old inhabitant - the third within seven weeks - in the person of Mrs Patience Allen, who passed away at her residence, Wayside Cottage, on Monday at the age of 92.

The deceased lady was a native of Suffolk, her parents having kept the Queen's Head Hotel in the village of Eye, and it was here that she married Mr Samuel Edward Allen, son of a farmer living in the same village. In about 1887 Mr and Mrs Allen moved to Langenhoe Wick, the husband taking a post as stockman and gamekeeper, and later a similar posts at Langenhoe Hall.
After 19 years they settled in Peldon, where Mr Allen died in 1912...
