AbstractObituary
Stephanie Kay Ellis 25 February 1961 - 3 July 2023

Dearest daughter of Ron and the late Wendy, Dearest wife of Clive, loving Mum to Charlie, Dear sister of Laurence and Sherill, Auntie to Adam, Charlotte and Jessica, Dear step mother to Scott and Gemma, Dear nanny to Ben, Poppy and Dexter, passed away in Colchester Hospital after a brave fight against cancer.

Stephanie was a real West Mersea native, apart from a short while living in Colchester, she lived all of her life in West Mersea, in the last eleven years in the lovely St Peters Well Cottage which she and Clive had transformed with views over the Blackwater Estuary. She could often be seen on the balcony waving to her many friends passing by.

She had a number of interesting jobs during her working life, she was the first female car sales person working for Candor Motors the main Ford dealers in Colchester and was featured in a full page advertisement in Lifestyle magazine of 1987 posing with the latest model XR3i with the caption 'Would you buy a car from this lady?' She worked in Barclays Bank in West Mersea and in Colchester, but for the last eight years she worked for the NHS in Colchester Hospital admin and was still working there when she passed away.

She always stayed cheerful and bright and kept a lot of her suffering from me. 'I don't want to worry dad' she would say. She phoned me from her hospital bed a week before she died. Steph Mobil came up on my screen. She was the same cheery self and when I asked how she was 'I'm fine' she said, and she sounded fine.

She gave me sixty two years of joy and love and although I gave her away twice - as a bride, she will always be with me.
