 10. The Fort - a block-house or fort stood near the 10th green as far back as 1547.
 11. Smugglers - a few decades gone by, two freetraders, one on either side of the wall, blazed away at one another, each mistaking the other to be an excise officer. One died.
 12. Haggy Daggy - a mist that drives from seaward. [Douglas Went names the mist Da'ag and says the word is of Danish Origin. See <a href=mmphoto.php?typ=ID&hit=1&tot=1&ba=cke&rhit=1&bid=BOXB5_015_019 ID=1>BOXB5_015_019 </a>]

 14. Bowling Green. In the good old days of farming, a natural lawn of considerable extent lay along the shore of the Blackwater, parallel to the 14th hole - where the local gentry were wont to hold their galas.
