1.   In the name of god amen the xi th daye of August in the Sixt yeare of the
2.   Raygne of our Soverayne lord Charles of England Scottland France and Ireland
3.   kinge defendor of the fayth etc and in the yeare of our lord god 1630 I John
4.   Nysum of westmersea in the Countie of Essex yeoman beinge verie sicke in
5.   bodie but of sounde and p[er]fett mynde & memorie god be thanked for it doe ordaine
6.   and make this my last will and p[re]sent Testament in mannor & forme hereafter
7.   Specyfied First & p[r]insipallie I bequeath my soule into the hands of allmyghtie
8.   god who gave itt & my bodie to be buried where it shall please god to
9.   Apoynte & as for my worldlie goods I dispose of them in mannor and
10.   forme as followeth It[em] I give and bequeath Unto Margrett Nysum
11.   my sister the whole & full sum of Tenn pounds of good and lawfull
12.   monie of England to be payde unto hir wthin eyght yeares next after my
13.   descease It[em] I give & bequeathe Unto Rose Cooke my kinswoman the whole
14.   & full sume of Five pounds of good & lawfull monie of England to be
15.   payde unto hir when shee shall accomplish hir age of Twentie & one
16.   yeares It[em] I give and bequeath Unto Elsabeth my Wife all that my
17.   Tenament & lands w[i]th thapurtenances wherein I now dwell by what name
18.   or names so ever they are called or knowne by for & dureinge the
19.   terme of hir naturall life Upon condition that she paye the severall
20.   sumes of monie before given to Margrett my sister & Rose my
21.   kinswoman att the severall times of payment as they growe to be dewe
22.   Item I give & bequeath Unto the Childe that my Wife now goeth w[i]th
23.   yf she be w[i]th childe the whole & full sume of thirtie pounds to be payd
24.   Unto it by John my sonn out of the lands which shall hereafter be
25.   given him that is to say Fiftene pounds theirof w[i]thin fower yeares after
26.   the descease of Elsabeth my wife if that <> it shall then accomplish the
27.   age of Twentie & one yeares & the other Fiften pounds that time
28.   two yeares then followenge It[em] I give Unto John my sonn all that my
29.   Tenament & lands w[i]th thapurtenances wherein I now dwell p[re]sentlie
30.   after the descease of Elsabeth my wife to him & the Eyers of his bodie
31.   lawfullie begotten & for want of such Eyers I will it shall Remayne
32.   & be Unto the Childe that my wife goeth w[i]thall if she be w[i]th childe
33.   & to the Eyers of the bodie of that childe lawfullie begotten & for want
34.   of such Eyers I will it shall Remayne Unto Margrett Nysume
35.   my sister & hir Eyers for ever Upon Condition that she the sayd
36.   Margrett shall paye Unto Rose her sister the whole & full sume of
37.   six pounds a yeare dureinge the naturall life of the said Rose to
38.   be payd halfe yeare the first payment theirof to begin the
39.   mychaellmas or ladie day which shall first happen after that it
40.   Shall com to the sayd Margrett It[em] I give and bequeath Unto Rubye
41.   Nysum my mother all that my Tenament & lands with thapurtenances
42.   called denetts now in the tenor & occupation of me the sayd John
43.   Nysum & one Jarmond Greene dureinge hir naturall life
44.   Allso my will & meaninge is that if Ruby my mother shall dep[ar]te
45.   this life before John my sonn be of the age of eyghtene yeares then I will that Elsabeth my wife shall have the said Tenament untill John [in margin my son be of the age of 18 year[es] as is afors[ai]d]
46.   then I will that the sayd Tenament & lands shall be & Remayne
47.   unto the Childe that my wife now goeth w[i]thall if she be with childe
48.   & to the eyers of the bodie of the said Child & for want of such
49.   eyers I will it shall be & Remayne Unto John my sonn & to the <...>
50.   Eyers of his bodie lawfullie begotten & for want of such Eyers & my
51.   will & my meaneinge is the said Tenament & lands shall be and
52.   Remayne to Rose Cooke my sisters daughter & to the Eyrs of hir
53.   bodie lawfullie begotten & for want of such Eyers I will & my
54.   meaneinge is the sayd Tenament & lands shall Remayne Unto
55.   Margrett Nysum my sister [&] hir Eyers for ever Item I give and
56.   bequeathe Unto Rose my S[ister] [page torn] the Redd Cowe with the whitte face
57.   and my p[art]e of thother blacke [cowe?][page torn] which she hath p[ar] te in alreadie
