Correction to pages 12 to 15. The Albert Jordan who was killed at Gallipoli 6 August 1915 was not connected with Mersea and is not the Albert Jordan commemorated on West Mersea War Memorial.

Albert Ernest Jordan was born 1900, the son of William John and Mary Ann Jordan. During the war his parents were living at the Coast Guard Station, West Mersea as his father was Chief Coastguard.
Albert served in the Mercantile Marine Reserve. He is thought to have been a victim of the influenza epidemic and died 22 October 1918. He is buried in Dunfermline Parish Cemetery.
